Is darkness born in the shadows? And what of evil? Does it, too, creep unnoticed toward people from hidden corners? The ancient Slavs believed that the supernatural being Mora, later known as Můra, was the soul of a deceased person who had not found peace. At night, she would sit on people’s chests, pressing down on them, and thus warn them of impending danger. But those who bring warnings are not usually popular.
