The birthday party ended two days ago, and the hangover is still lingering, but Olja still has to do one thing: open her mother’s last letter. She is twenty-eight, exactly the same age her mother was when she died. Before her death, her mother wrote twenty-four letters, one for each of Olja’s birthdays. Now, only the last one remains to be read.
