René Levínský: A LIFETIME IS NOT ENOUGH
A cottage in the foothills. The oven burns with a sacred flame. Rolls turn golden, the landscape awakens. It's spring. And as nature awakens, so do the amateur actors of Nová Paka. Where everyone knows one life is not enough. Where life is lived in the bakery. Where life is lived on stage.
On the day of the spring equinox, the ovens suddenly go out. A bakery without electricity. Without electricity, you can only make unbaked pastries. This was known even by the ancient Neanderthal, connected with the spirit of nature. But where to find the secret of ancient recipes? Perhaps from the souls of the long deceased.
A new, uncompromisingly realistic comedy about the hard life of modern spiritualists is full of real, deeply human stories and the traditional, darkly humorous humor of the Krkonoše foothills. It tells a highly topical story that the author lovingly dedicates to Alois Jirásek and Karel Jaromír Erben and, of course, to his beloved Eastern Bohemia, for there is no place like Nová Paka.
The performance lasts 1:40 without an intermission.
WARNING: The performance uses strobe lighting, gunfire, and vulgar language. Suitable for viewers over 15 years of age.
